Love on the Run Half Marathon

The Irving Marathon Running Series has turned this Valentine's weekend race into a North Texas February fixture, now nearing a decade of editions. The half marathon leads a morning that also includes a 10K and 5K, all based at The Plaza at Toyota Music Factory in Las Colinas.

The out-and-back route uses Las Colinas Boulevard and the paved Campion Trail before returning to the Toyota Music Factory finish. The half marathon course is USATF certified and mostly flat, so mid-February pacing usually comes down to wind rather than terrain.

February in North Texas swings hard. Race morning can be near freezing one year and in the 60s the next, and wind on open boulevard sections is the most common complication.
