Lake Vian Hilltop Run uses a compact lakeside loop to support distances from four miles through 100 miles. The longest race favors runners and crews who value frequent contact, simple resupply and a social start-and-finish area.
Course
Each two-mile loop combines paved sections with singletrack through the woods and a hilltop overlook above Lake Vian. The short circuit makes nutrition easy to stage, but repetition and constant small terrain changes accumulate over 100 miles.
Race-day weather
Late February in eastern Oklahoma can be cold, windy or unexpectedly mild. A long overnight run adds a wide temperature range, and rain could make the dirt portions slick.
