Hyundai Lisbon Half Marathon
A rare start on the Vasco da Gama Bridge sends a large field toward Lisbon's riverfront center and a grand Praça do Comércio finish downtown.
Quick facts
- Point-to-point route starts on the Vasco da Gama Bridge.
- Organizer buses provide the required access to the start.
- Three-hour cutoff applies from the final starter's crossing.
- Distinct from Lisbon's March half marathon.
About the Hyundai Lisbon Half Marathon
This October half is part of Lisbon Marathon weekend but races on Sunday, one day after the full marathon. It is separate from the March EDP Lisbon Half and stands out for its bridge start, large international field, and point-to-point tour into central Lisbon.
Course
Runners start on the Vasco da Gama Bridge and head from northern Lisbon toward the historic center, following river views to Praça do Comércio. Organizer buses are the only way into the start area, so transport timing is part of the race plan. The limit is three hours.
Race-day weather
Lisbon can still be mild to warm in October. The bridge is exposed to wind, and sun on the riverfront approach can raise the effort late, so the opening kilometers should feel controlled.
