About the Harcourts Cooper & Co Hobsonville Half Marathon
The half marathon expands the former Run the Point event into a longer Auckland Half Marathon Series race. Its appeal is the change from modern Hobsonville Point to the quieter roads near the air base and the small waterfront community of Herald Island.
Course
The first section follows Hobsonville Point and the 5km Little Loop coastal track. The course then crosses the motorway to Whenuapai, circles Herald Island and returns over the Clarks Lane Footbridge. Surfaces and surroundings change more often than the elevation.
Race-day weather
Midsummer in Auckland is often warm and humid. The early start limits some heat exposure, but later kilometres can still feel hot; begin conservatively and stay on top of fluids.
