About the Groundhog Day Marathon

Trivium Racing stages this February marathon as a playful tribute to the movie's repeating day. The small field circles Millennium Park, and a Friday half marathon lets ambitious runners attempt the Groundhog Double.

Course

The certified marathon repeats a short park loop many times on paved paths. The format simplifies aid and split management, but accumulated turns, slick footing, and mental repetition become central to the race.

Race-day weather

Expect genuine winter conditions. Snow, ice, wind, and single-digit temperatures are possible, and even a clear day can leave frozen or slushy patches underfoot.
