Quick facts

  • Four laps of the park's nearly eight-mile circuit form the 50K.
  • Singletrack, grass, dirt road, and asphalt all appear each lap.
  • Two staffed aid stations and an extra water stop support the loop.
  • The fixed-distance cutoff is 9 p.m., 14 hours after the start.

About the Green Lakes Endurance Runs 50K

The four-lap 50K gives runners repeated access to the same aid and drop-bag area without turning the route into a flat track. It is a practical first looped ultra with enough climbing and exposure to demand restraint.

Course

The circuit moves between well-maintained trail, grassy stretches, dirt road, and short paved pieces. Two ascents interrupt each lap before a longer descent returns runners toward the lower lakes.

Race-day weather

A morning start does not avoid the main August challenge: heat and humidity can build through the later laps. The long open meadow feels much warmer than the shaded forest and lakeshore.
