About the Fränkische Schweiz-Marathon
The marathon showcases the Fränkische Schweiz landscape from an established regional road event based around Ebermannstadt. It combines a traditional German race setup with a course that feels more rural than urban.
Course
Paved roads carry runners through towns and the limestone countryside of Upper Franconia. Changes in grade and village turns reward measured effort rather than treating the scenic route as uniformly flat.
Race-day weather
Early September in Bavaria is often mild, but warm sun, cool rain or a sharp morning-to-afternoon swing can occur. The open road sections may feel warmer than shaded village miles.
