About the Finger Lakes 50s 50K

The 50K shares the national-forest loop and early start with the longer race, then stops after two circuits. Its actual distance is close to 33 miles, making it a little longer than a standard 50K.

Course

Two 16.5-mile loops combine mostly singletrack with grassy pasture and short dirt or paved road sections. Roughly 2,600 feet of climbing, narrow boardwalks, roots, and possible mud complicate an otherwise runnable profile.

Race-day weather

Warm, humid July air can make the second lap much harder than the first. Exposed pasture heats quickly, while shaded forest may remain wet and slick after recent rain.
