About the Eugene Curnow Trail Marathon
This established trail marathon carries runners out of Duluth from the zoo and finishes in Carlton. Its point-to-point journey and technical terrain matter far more than road-marathon pace targets.
Course
The route begins at the Lake Superior Zoo and follows rugged trail corridors toward Carlton. Uneven footing, climbing and remote stretches require trail preparation, self-management and attention to cutoffs.
Race-day weather
July in northern Minnesota may be warm and humid, with rain, mud or insects adding difficulty. Shaded woods can stay damp even when exposed sections become hot.
