EOD Warrior Holiday Dash Marathon

This District of Columbia holiday race pairs a full marathon with shorter options and a military-community mission. The marathon starts near Potomac Boat Club and remains a separately entered distance.

The route uses the mostly flat C&O Canal towpath from Georgetown. Crushed surface, out-and-back traffic and winter moisture can alter footing even when the grade supports steady pacing.

Early December in Washington may be crisp and dry, cold and rainy or occasionally icy. Canal shade can hold chill and dampness longer than nearby city streets.
