About the Eiger Ultra Trail E101
Eiger Ultra Trail E101 is the flagship 100K distance at Eiger Ultra Trail by UTMB. The Grindelwald loop combines a high-demand lottery, a required UTMB Index, and a route framed by the Bernese Alps.
Course
The 101 km loop gains 6,700 meters and allows 25 hours. It climbs through First and Faulhorn, crosses toward Schynige Platte, Wengen, and Männlichen, then runs beneath the Eiger North Face before returning to Grindelwald.
Race-day weather
July can move from warm valley miles to cold, wet, and windy high points in a few hours. Rain makes the alpine trail slick, and the race can require additional cold-weather gear when conditions deteriorate.
