About the DRC's The Half
This is the Dallas Running Club's flagship road race and reaches its 51st annual running in 2026. It is run by club volunteers and supports the Tal Morrison Scholarship Fund for local student-athletes. Recent half fields have run between roughly 450 and 630 finishers.
Course
The half starts and finishes at Norbuck Park on North Buckner Boulevard and circles White Rock Lake, one of the flattest and fastest running routes in Dallas. The course is USATF certified and mostly paved lakeside trail and park road. The half goes off at 8:00 a.m. with the 10K and 5K following ten minutes later, and the course stays open until noon.
Race-day weather
Early November in Dallas is usually the best running weather of the year. Expect low 50s at the 8:00 a.m. start with cool lake air, though a warm front can push the later miles into the 70s.
