Course
The point-to-point crossing links volcanic highlands, the island's cirques, steep stair-like trail, muddy forest, and remote settlements before Saint-Denis.
Race-day weather
Tropical lowlands, wet cloud forest, cold high ground, and exposed sun can all occur in one race. Rain often makes the technical descents much slower.
