Course
Paved greenway through Fred G. Bond Metro Park and along the White Oak Greenway, with the rolling terrain typical of the Triangle rather than a flat rail trail. Runners choose a start time within a window and must reach the turnaround by 9:30 and finish by 11 a.m.
Race-day weather
Early March in the Triangle can start near freezing and finish in the 60s. Wind is rarely the issue on a tree lined greenway, but the swing from start to finish makes throwaway layers useful.
