About the Carrollton Half Marathon
The Carrollton Half Marathon has grown into one of Georgia's better known small-city halves and sells out under a firm runner cap most years. Recent fields have landed between roughly 390 and 480 finishers. A two to four person relay and a wheelchair and pushchair division run the same course.
Course
Start and finish are at Adamson Square on Bradley Street. The route heads counterclockwise toward Kingsbridge Highway, picks up the Alabama Street trailhead, and then works south along the paved Carrollton GreenBelt past Lake Carroll before crossing Woodson Bridge and turning back north into the square. The GreenBelt sections are shaded and rolling, and the last stretch into the finish is flat.
Race-day weather
Late September in west Georgia is often warm and humid even at a 7:15 a.m. start. Expect mid 60s at the gun climbing into the 70s, with heavy tree cover on the GreenBelt helping on sunny years.
