CarMax Richmond Half Marathon

The half packages Richmond Marathon weekend's high-touch race production into 13.1 miles. Bands, party zones, unusual aid-station extras, and strong neighborhood participation create a friendlier feel than the field size suggests, and the race often fills early.

Starting downtown at 7th and Broad, the route visits VCU, Northside, Bryan Park, Bellevue, and central Richmond before the signature downhill finish at 5th and Tredegar by Brown's Island. Wave starts spread the field, but rolling middle miles still reward controlled effort.

Mid-November usually favors cool running, though rain, wind, or a near-freezing start can occur. The final downhill is fast, so saving leg speed matters more than overdressing for the first mile.
