About the Cadbury Marathon
A long-running Tasmanian event, the Cadbury Marathon gives Hobart-area runners a full marathon early in the calendar year. Its factory venue and chocolate-themed finish make it unusually recognizable.
Course
The 42.195-kilometre route starts and finishes at the Cadbury factory and uses roads near the Derwent, MONA, and Bowen Bridge. Rolling sections and a late climb prevent the course from feeling uniformly fast.
Race-day weather
Tasmanian summer mornings are often mild, then become warmer and sunnier. River wind can add difficulty on exposed sections, especially late in the race.
