About the Blackall 100K

The 100K is the longest race at Blackall and a Western States qualifier. Its setting on the Sunshine Coast Hinterland Great Walk gives it a clear identity beyond the distance: rainforest, waterfalls, long ridge sections and a finish marked by the Blackall bell.

Course

The route starts and finishes in Mapleton and follows the hinterland trail network through fern forest, gullies, ridgelines and waterfall country. The surface and climbing change repeatedly, so steady hiking and controlled descending matter as much as runnable speed.

Race-day weather

Spring in the Sunshine Coast hinterland can feel warm and humid even under forest cover. Exposed ridges add sun, while gullies may stay damp and slippery after rain.
