About the Berry Half Marathon
Berry College's campus race has run for close to two decades and pulls runners from across the Southeast. Because the whole route sits on college land, there is no traffic to manage, and the field spreads out quickly across quiet forest roads and farm lanes. Entry money supports the college's elementary and middle school.
Course
The route follows the stretch road out to the mountain campus, passes Frost Chapel and the Old Mill, runs through the WinShape dairy barns, and comes back on the Viking Trail. Most of it is paved, with hard-packed dirt near mile 6 and gravel on Possum Trot Road around mile 8. Rolling, with a few moderate climbs rather than one decisive hill.
Race-day weather
Early March in northwest Georgia usually means a cold start in the 30s or low 40s, warming into the 50s by the time most runners finish. Rain is a real possibility, and the dirt and gravel stretches soften when it comes.
