About the Baystate Marathon
Baystate Marathon is a runner-led New England race with a long reputation for fast times and Boston qualification. Greater Lowell Road Runners produces the event with volunteers and directs proceeds back into the local running community.
Course
The marathon uses a flat double-loop layout around Lowell and the Merrimack River, keeping aid and pacing landmarks familiar on the second circuit. Repetition helps rhythm, though bridges and exposed river sections can reveal a windy day.
