- Finish line closes at 11 p.m., a 3 hour 45 minute limit from the gun.
About the Area 13.1 Half Marathon
Roswell's alien-themed night half owns a summer evening slot that most road races avoid entirely. The branding is loud, the medals are alien heads, and the field is still among the biggest half marathon fields in Georgia. Entry caps are real here and the race has sold out ahead of race day.
Course
The layout is a flat two-loop route along the Chattahoochee with boardwalk sections and roughly 240 feet of total gain. Runners start in daylight and are running the second loop after sunset, so lighting and footing on the boardwalks matter more than the elevation does. The finish line closes at 11 p.m.
Race-day weather
A mid-August evening in metro Atlanta stays warm and humid long past sunset. Temperatures in the 80s at the 7 p.m. gun are normal and the humidity barely drops before the finish. Going out conservatively is the standard advice here for good reason.
