American Bluegrass Classic Marathon

Paducah's new fall road race pairs a four-loop marathon with the city's riverfront festival weekend, so the course stays near the crowds instead of heading out of town. Baptist Health backs the event, the field is capped, and the flat looped layout is aimed at runners chasing fast fall times.

Marathoners run four loops of just over 6.5 miles through downtown Paducah, the Lowertown Arts District, and Midtown, with about 40 feet of gain per lap. The loop format means constant crowd access and easy spectating, but it also asks runners to pass the finish area three times before the last lap.

Mid-October in western Kentucky usually brings crisp mornings in the 40s or 50s and mild afternoons. Humidity is fading by this point in the fall, though a warm year can still push finishing temperatures toward 70.
