About the Zijin Goldfields Pipeline Marathon
First tested in 2013, the Pipeline event has grown into a fixture on Western Australia's running calendar. The schedule also offers a 50K, half marathon and 10K.
Course
The marathon follows an entirely off-road bush route associated with the historic Goldfields pipeline. Distances start from different points but converge at the Ray Finlayson Sporting Complex.
Race-day weather
July is winter in Kalgoorlie-Boulder, often bringing a cold start, dry air and stronger sun later in the morning. Wind and wide temperature swings can add difficulty on exposed bush tracks.
