Quick facts
- Two decades of race history on Greensboro's watershed trail network.

- Generous cutoffs make it a reasonable first trail marathon.
- Marathon, half marathon, and 40 mile races share the day from Bur-Mil Park.
About the Triple Lakes Trail Marathon
One of North Carolina's longest-running trail races, Triple Lakes has anchored Greensboro's fall calendar for two decades. Trivium Racing stages the marathon alongside a half marathon and a 40 miler from Bur-Mil Park, and the forgiving time limits keep the race open to first-time trail marathoners.
Course
The route follows the watershed trails linking Lake Brandt, Lake Townsend, and Lake Jeanette. It is runnable singletrack rather than mountain terrain, but roots, bridges, and constant small turns cost time against road pacing, and October leaf cover can hide the footing.
Race-day weather
Late October in the Piedmont typically starts in the 40s and reaches the 60s by midday. Tree cover holds cool air over most of the course, so heat is rarely the main problem this late in the season.
