Taiyuan Marathon

Shanxi's capital hosts a large, high-level road race with the full marathon sharing the day with a half. The city-center start, river corridors, and deep field shape a modern urban marathon built around steady road speed rather than destination scenery alone.

The point-to-point course starts at Wuyi Square, follows major Taiyuan avenues, and uses roads along both banks of the Fen River before finishing near Changxing North Street. Broad roads and long river sections support rhythm, while the six-hour limit keeps the event moving.

Late September is usually cool and relatively dry by Taiyuan standards. A cold start is possible, with mild sun and a breeze along the river later in the morning.
