About the Speedgoat 50K
Speedgoat 50K turns Snowbird's ski terrain into a compact high-altitude test. Entry is open rather than lottery-based, but the climbing, technical descents, and 13-hour limit leave little room for an easy day.
Course
The 31-mile route gains 11,318 feet through Snowbird. It climbs Chips Switchbacks, Hidden Peak, and Baldy, drops on rocky singletrack and ATV trail, then finishes with a final descent from Hidden Peak to the Center Plaza.
Race-day weather
Late July can be hot and sunny at the base while exposed summits bring wind, cooler air, or fast mountain storms. The course repeatedly moves between ski-area low points and terrain near 11,000 feet.
