Quick facts
- 12:01 a.m. start from Kilometer 0; the start line closes 20 minutes later.
- Three-loop course with a 7 hour 30 minute limit.
- Runners must be 18 or older.
- No kit pickup on Saturday or race day, so claim it by Friday evening.
Course
Each of the three loops begins at Kilometer 0 on Roxas Boulevard and turns at Quirino Avenue, then passes Rizal Park on the way to Orosa Street and crosses Jones Bridge toward Plaza Lorenzo Ruiz in Binondo. Runners cut through Intramuros on General Luna, Muralla and Real streets before a turnaround at Anda Circle. After the third lap the route turns onto Katigbak Parkway to finish in front of the Manila Hotel. Organizers say the course is measured to World Athletics and AIMS standards. The time limit is seven and a half hours.
Race-day weather
Organizers list Manila's average air temperature at 32°C, and the midnight start avoids the worst of it. Nights are still warm and humid, and anyone out past dawn will feel the heat build quickly. Plan fluids and pace around the humidity.
About the AIA Rock 'n' Roll Running Series Manila Marathon
IRONMAN's Rock 'n' Roll series brings its music-on-course format to Manila, with bands and DJs along the route and a festival area at Quirino Grandstand. The marathon goes off first, at 12:01 a.m., two hours ahead of the half, so the full field runs most of the night on closed roads. Kit claiming runs Tuesday through Friday at Robinsons Place Manila, with none on Saturday or race day.
