Quick facts
- Very early start in pace-sorted waves from the Centro Cívico.
- Six-hour limit before timing shuts down.
- Minimum age is 20, higher than the 18 required for the half.
- Curitiba's altitude of about 900 meters matters for runners coming from sea level.
- Kit pickup happens at the pre-race expo, with none on race day.
Course
Start and finish share Praça Nossa Senhora de Salete in the Centro Cívico, and the field leaves in pace-sorted waves. The route crosses much of the city, with recent editions passing the Oscar Niemeyer Museum and Jardim Botânico. Water comes every 3 km, with three isotonic stops and two fruit stops along the way. Chip timing stops six hours after the start, so that is the working cutoff.
Race-day weather
Curitiba sits roughly 900 meters above sea level, and the early start helps keep the first hours cool. Spring weather here changes quickly, though, and showers are common, and the sun can get strong for anyone still out late in the morning.
