About the Lake Minneola Half Marathon
Clermont is where Florida triathletes and runners go to train on hills, so a flat race here is a deliberate choice. Sommer Sports keeps the route on the rail trail and the waterfront, which makes it one of the better Central Florida options for a time goal.
Course
The course is a flat out and back on the paved South Lake Trail, running alongside Lake Minneola for long stretches. The turnaround is the only real decision point, and the surface stays consistent throughout. Start and finish are at Waterfront Park in downtown Clermont.
Race-day weather
Late March in Central Florida can go either way. A 7:00 AM start is often in the 60s with high humidity, but a warm front can put race morning near 70 with dew points to match. The trail is open in places, so sun exposure builds through the second half.
