About the JBG Kolkata Marathon
JBG Kolkata Marathon brings its full-distance race to Red Road Maidan, building on Sportiz’s established Kolkata running festival. The open marathon welcomes adults, while an elite category has a separate application process.
Course
The 42.195 km road event uses Red Road Maidan as its venue and takes runners through Kolkata’s city streets. RFID timing records the effort, with hydration stations, traffic management and medical support along the route.
Race-day weather
Late autumn is usually drier and cooler than Kolkata’s monsoon season, but the day can still become warm. An early start helps; avoid letting a comfortable first few kilometres set an unsustainable pace.
