- Four-hour course limit.
About the Cardiff Half Marathon
Cardiff combines a deep international field with a large mass-participation race and strong spectator support. Entry is ballot-led, with charity, business and international alternatives once the main allocation closes.
Course
The mostly flat route starts outside Cardiff Castle, runs through Penarth and across the barrage into Cardiff Bay, then loops Roath Park Lake before finishing at the Civic Centre. The measured road course favors speed without losing its city landmarks.
Race-day weather
Early October in Cardiff is usually cool enough for racing, but rain and coastal wind are realistic. The later morning start can also make mild days feel warmer by the closing miles.
